It doesn't take a lot to be happy :)
So last night, I ended my work at around 8pm. But I started working on flowers at nearly 12pm, so technically speaking, I only worked 8 hours. However, I noticed that each time when I end my work these days, I was thinking, ah, 8 hours already? I want to continue doing more but at the same time, as I have not fully recovered from my flu, I decided that I needed to rest early so that I can start early the next day and I really want to be fully well as soon as possible so that I can do more stuff. It then crossed my mind that when I was doing my previous job, I dreaded work everyday and was counting down to 6pm everyday. So the realisation I have was, if you like what you are doing, time is never enough, if you dread what you are doing, even a minute feels long.
This morning, I woke up feeling happy and relieved. Then I was wondering why am I feeling so happy and relieved? So I realised that because I no longer have to wake up to a job that I don't like.
Although it also takes a lot to run a business and I am still trying to get a hang of it, but this journey has been quite fulfilling so far, as I see myself stretching my horizon just because I want to make things work.
As for the photo featured in this post, this is a bouquet I did up most recently, after consulting my teacher on things which I think I need improvements on and I think I got it. In case you are wondering, teacher? yes, to me, I think it is important to always learn by attending courses or certification courses. This is how we can improve our crafts :) and then impart it to our students in future. To date, I have attended flower classes in 3 other countries apart from SG with a total of 7 different teachers and still looking at attending more :)
Conclusion of the week, I think it is so important to do what you love :) after all, our work takes up most part of our lives. I remember one of my bosses told me this when I left my ex company. As the adage goes, choose a job you love and you'll never have to work a day in your life and I think I am really experiencing this now :) Blogging about this as a reminder for myself! If you are reading this, I hope you experience too!
